My apologies for not posting in recent weeks.  At least for the time being, I need to take a blog break so that I can concentrate my time on my family and the holidays.  I hope to be back sometime after the new year.  I may still post occasionally but will not be updating weekly sales for now.

CVS Greenbagtag

I went on my weekly trip to CVS today.  I always bring my own cloth bags with me, and as I checked out, the cashier offered me a “Greenbagtag” for $.99 for my cloth bag.

The way the Greenbagtag works is that you attach it to your cloth bag handle and scan it every time you shop.  Each time you scan it, you earn $.25 extrabucks, and on every fourth visit (once you’ve earned $1 in Extrabucks) a $1 Extrabuck will print on your receipt (so I’m told.)  There is a limit of one use per day per household, so technically if you were really bored, you could use it 7 times a week for an additional $1.75 in Extrabucks per week.

I’ll pay off the $.99 purchase price after three more visits (because she scanned it for me today) and the rest will be gravy. Then I’ll be earning money for doing something that I was already doing.  How cool is that?

Major kudos to CVS for encouraging people to go green!

As an aside, my local Target has started giving $.05 back on your receipt for bringing your own bags, too.
